Viscosity is the primary indicator of the essential lubricating property of a fluid, determining the nature and the thickness of the fluid film between surfaces. In approximately one minute per test, the Digital Viscometer gives the user the capability to detect misapplication of lubricant (e.g., wrong or mixed oils); detect fuel dilution in liquid-fueled engine application; establish the lubricant viscosity for purposes of trending; and set parameters of further tests with viscosity dependent characteristics.
